Sharing is caring!

Here’s a few of our thoughts to help you make that decision.

Benefits of Choosing One Venue for Your Wedding & Reception

Traditionally weddings have taken place in two places; one for the ceremony and another for the reception. This has meant couples needing to pay the Hireage fees of two places, plus organise transport between them. However, many couples nowadays are choosing to host their ceremony and reception at the same venue. The benefits of doing so include:

  • Saving money
  • Guests don’t have to travel between venues
  • Increased privacy
  • Convenient
  • Saving time
  • Easier to plan

If this sounds like something you both want, then read on for our top tips on choosing the venue for your wedding.

How to choose a wedding venue

We’ve made a list of the best advice when it comes to deciding on a dual wedding and ceremony venue:

  • Make a list of your must-haves, nice to have and don’t wants for your wedding day. This will help you narrow down your list of preferred venues.
  • Check if onsite catering is an option. Sometimes you must stick with onsite caterers, and others allow you to organize your own caterers if you wish.
  • Decide on your budget. It’s no use falling in love with a wedding venue and then finding out the price is too high. Find out upfront before you make any decisions on whether to book or not.
  • Ask about the services they offer. For instance, some venues can offer a cash bar or BYO as part of their bar services.
  • Find out about different rooms at the venue. Is there somewhere separate you can have the ceremony before moving to the reception room?
  • Book well in advance. Once you have decided on a venue for your wedding, book it!
  • Ask lots of questions! For help on what you should be asking, check out our blog post “What Questions Should I Be Asking When Looking For A Wedding Venue?”.
